Most emergency treatments for various poisons (or other stuff you should not have drunk) are
1. Syrup of ipecac – to make you throw it up
2. Charcoal solution – to hopefully absorb the poison instead of your body.
Call the poison hotline to figure out which to administer.
I live in deep western massachusetts and your videos have helped identify over 50 Very useful plants and plant species, what are your views on lichens and moss.
man when i look in the tv is like i start to think that all white people are inhuman and devils, but then again we all know that the media is full of poison.,
good video..
Fantastic video Dave, short sweet and too the point, without sacrificing comprehensive usable knowledge. I continue to learn more from you every day I am watching these videos. I just subscribed to your magazine. I am excited about receiving the my first one.
@MrsNewAmericaNow The accident story is what is being told by the curators of The Sleeping Giant Provincial Park. Your explanation sounds plausable. Thanks for the info.
@Templehatchet Plantain was not by accident and was called white mans footprint. It was brought over for a food source and medicinal reasons. The seeds are used for constipation, we use the leaves for cuts/bug bites and as a pot herb.
I have jewel weed all over the place in my yard. Now I have a use for it during the blackfly and mosquito seasons. Interestingly enough, plantain was introduced accidentaly by Europeans in the cuffs of their trousers. The Ojibway knew the white man was in an area when they saw the plant. lol Thanks for the vid!
PLEASE NOTE – BLACK charcoal used only for consumption. WHite coals used for cleaning clothes, or diluted for bathing/cleaning pans etc. NaOH=caustic soda=do not consume. Thanks dave, your videos are awesome, except maybe for the wild boar.
also.. for deep wounds that can cause severe infection.. melt some fat over the charcoal and then soak the wound in the smoke… for some reason, all the dirt and shit out of your woud will start pouring out

You can get Jewelweed juice in mostly drug store and healthfood stores
Excellent. I’ll have to make up a first aid kit. Can you store the cattail goo or the jewelweed juice?
